Yesterday’s Perfume

Ladies in Waiting – mixed media 24×24″

Mixed Media Encaustic Paintings

This gallery of organic, visceral paintings explores issues involving expectations, wild hopes and shattered dreams.

In these bittersweet works, I’ve attempted to evoke sensual mysterious forms and textures that inform and create an ethereal mood of wistful melancholy, nostalgic yearnings and contemplative perceptions of time that cut directly to the pulsating core of the human condition.

The title “Yesterday’s Perfume” comes from an unconventional memoir of writer Paul Bowles who peered deeply into the hearts and souls of men and women exposed to extreme environments and issues that forced them to confront the very nature of their being.
